The Centre for Plant Medicine Research (CPMR),
formerly known as the Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine (CSRPM), Mampong-Akwapim, was founded by the Government of Ghana in 1975. It was inspired by the vision of Dr. Oku Ampofo, a distinguished allopathic Medical Practitioner. Dr. Ampofo, influenced by personal experiences with the therapeutic benefits of herbal medicines on himself and his father, embraced herbalism from a young age.
