The ICT Unit offers comprehensive technical support to the Centre, managing the provision and upkeep of IT hardware such as computers, scanners, printers, and internet infrastructure. Additionally, the unit undertakes software development and provides assistance to staff requiring access to the Centre’s computer systems, including installing new software or hardware, repairing faulty hardware, and training employees on new software. THE UNIT AMONG OTHER THINGS PERFORM THE FOLLOWING CORE FUNCTIONS:
- Provision and maintenance of computers, scanners, printers, photocopiers
- Provides the appropriate hardware, software, networking and communications infrastructure for automation
- Install and configure software and hardware
- Manage network servers and technology tools
- Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models
