Welcome Message From
The Executive Director
I warmly welcome you to the Centre for Plant Medicine Research– a globally unique Centre that it is engaged in scientific research, production of herbal medicines as well as provision of clinical services. The Centre is actually involved in the entire value chain of plant medicine production, right from sourcing of plant raw materials through scientific research and development of herbal medicines, clinical practice as well as marketing of herbal products.
The Mission of the Centre is to gain the highest recognition by providing for the exact needs for patients and industry, through innovative scientific research and productive partnerships. We are also fully committed to leading the charge of harnessing the full potential of medicinal plant heritage associated with the rich Ghanaian flora to serve as a source of both health and wealth for our nation and humanity in general. As such, we use modern scientific tools and approaches in the search of efficacious and safe plant medicines for various diseases and health conditions.
We run the foremost herbal medicine clinic in Ghana where our over 33 herbal products are administered to our patients and clients. We also maintain four arboreta and medicinal plant farms distributed across the country in our quest to ensuring sustainable supplies of plant raw materials for plant medicine production. Our arboreta and farms significantly contribute to biodiversity conservation and mitigation of global climate change as well as promotion of ecotourism.
“We take great pride in our partners across the global including various universities, research institutions, industries as well as traditional medicine practitioners. Our team of highly dedicated staff and researchers are always happy to assist and support you.”
