Dr. Wilfred Adu-Gyamfi

PROFILE

Dr. Wilfred Adu-Gyamfi is a seasoned specialist in health policy, planning, and financial systems, with over two decades of progressive experience spanning Ghana’s health sector, academia, and international financial services. He holds a PhD in International Health Care Systems from Philippine Christian University (2021–2025), an MSPH in Public Health, and an MSc in Management and Development of International Financial Systems from University of Glamorgan, alongside several professional certifications.

He currently serves as Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Centre for Plant Medicine Research (from April 2026). Prior to this role, he served as Deputy Head of Health Training unit in charge of Allied heath at the Ministry of Health – Ghana. He also served as Head of Planning at Public Health Unit in Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and has worked in few countries outside Ghana

Dr. Adu-Gyamfi has demonstrated expertise in policy coordination, strategic budgeting, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and emergency health planning. He played a significant role in COVID-19 response and vaccine coordination efforts at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and state protocols. In addition to his administrative and policy leadership, he has an experienced as part-time lecturer in public health, Entrepreneur, marketing and health management.

He is widely recognized for developing impactful training programmes, driving institutional performance improvements, and presenting at international conferences across Asia, Europe, and Africa. His professional passion lies in strengthening healthcare systems, with a particular research interest in improving the operational efficiency of Ghana’s National Health Insurance Scheme.
